(Image: Instagram) Nathanuel McCowan, 49, of Oakland, Calif. was charged with murder in the death of Laketha McCowan. He was arrested on a warrant which was approved in Alameda Superior Court, just hours before the apprehension. Nathanuel McCowan was booked into the Santa Rita Jail. Thursday’s arrest took place without any incidents, police said. The case was turned over to local prosecutors. If found guilty, he could face many years in prison. The fatal shooting happened on February 26, 2023 at the Edwards Avenue ramp off of Interstate 580 in Oakland. The victim was found on the shoulder of the roadway.
